We called to have plumbing repair done – we were extremely pleased with the services with the service we received from Sauk Plains Plumbing & Pump.
We installed a Tankless Water Heater System. Everything went very smoothly and they were on time, polite and good workers.
Sauk Plains repaired and replaced plumbing and fixtures. Their service was prompt, courteous, clean, informative, efficient.
Sauk Plains Plumbing & Pump installed a Noritz 751-dvc tankless water heater. Services included taking out the old heater, installing the new heater and venting, and moving the water softener.
Work was completed in about 7 hours by one plumber. Installation did include altering the water and gas lines to and from the heater and softener, due to changes in space requirements for the new unit (less was needed) and the move of the water softener (into space cleared by the old tank heater). Services came in under estimate, although two hours of labor were charged for the water softener move (the total cost of project was still in the two lowest bids, so we found this ok). Area was left clean after work was completed, plumber used a tarp to protect our carpet in his travel through the house, install appears professional. Heater appears to work as advertised.
UPDATE (12.27.2011): The water heater appears to have been a lemon, as was its replacement. Both would frequently trigger “Error Code 12”. Sauk Plains staff were patient throughout what became a 2 year process of troubleshooting (gas meter pressure tracking, changing gas meter, Noritz rep and tech guys doing site visits, replacement water heater, and finally a replacement commercial condensing unit water heater) finally resulting in a smoothly running replacement water heater (the condensing unit). Sauk Plains was exemplary in working with us and sticking up for us in our dealings with the distributor. Their after-installation customer service was extremely valuable; I’m glad we went with a highly rated installer who carried weight with the distributor.
We added outside faucet for irrigation and upgraded iron pipe near entrance of well water to house in the basement. It went well. I requested a bid and received a detailed bid and explanation after a home visit. Two options were offered. Chose one but could not be on location when the work was done. The plumber put faucet exactly where I wanted it. Work area was cleaned up with only a few drippings from the solder. Job looked very professional. Very friendly and considerate.
I have a private well and they replaced a well pump, which had failed with another better quality pump and installation to my basement. The water from the well comes into the house and they replumbed that plus the work on the well outside the house. I was very pleased with the work. The price was very good. They were quick and they did a professional installation. I would use them in the future.
Our 4 year old water heater refused to heat the water. The owner (Steve) came out and was able to get the heater running, but told us that it would cost about $400 to repair it completely. I asked him about the installation of a tankless system. He indicated all of the benefits (many, really) then told us if we were interested, he would get the water heater we have running for us at no charge, and then come back on the next day to install a tankless heater. He really just defined it as an option to doing the repair on our unit, so there was no pressure on his part to spend the money for the tankless unit. He did indicate that ours could probably last another two to four years without difficulty.
After thinking it over, I decided to opt for the benefits of the tankless unit. They arrived promptly at 8:00 and were finished with the complete installation in less than 6 hours which included the installation, complete removal of the old unit and haul away, and clean up after completion.
The job is very professionally done and looks great.
Thanks, Sauk Plains Plumbing for a great experience!!!
It was excellent service. They were very timely from calling and to having him come out and put the water heater in. He also checked the water and gas pipes, and there were some that were old that needed replaced, which he did a fabulous job of doing so I didn’t have to worry about the gas leaks.
